Doris Duke Charitable Foundation: Creativity up Close

Profiles of artists who received the Doris Duke Artist Award—$250,000 in unrestricted funding—to pursue their visions without restraint

Challenge

Every year, the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation awards six performing artists with $250,000 in unrestricted funds so that they can pursue their visions without restraint.

In 2019, DDCF wanted to spotlight the extraordinary recipients of this award, and so they reached out to us.

Solution

We pitched and produced a series of docu-style profiles—giving viewers a glimpse into the pursuit and process of each artist.

The series launched in the New York Times in conjunction with the announcement of the 2019 recipients of the Doris Duke Artist Awards.
